Preparation for Heaven

A story was told of a lady who had an opportunity to go to the white man's land. She was going to spend many days there. So she had to put several things in order. As part of her preparations, she learnt about their eating and descovered that they they food seems raw.
By that, she started learning to cook like them by cooking half done foods.
One day she cooked okra soup half done and her brother complained and questions were thrown at her why she did that. She simply said "I am preparing to go out of Nigeria, so I'm learning how to cook and eat like them".
This is just preparation to just moving from one place to another on same earth and she is preparing to meet thing up there and live like them.
It's so unfortunate the way we prepare for heaven this days as we live freely and loosely as if it's not coming. Instead of preparing to live like those in heaven and practice so we can enter, we take that one carefree.
We make a lot of preparations for things on this earth. Example, we know how much we prepare, read hard to write exams pass and obtain a certificate from school. But to prepare hard to get heavenly certificate, we prepare less.
How are you preparing for heaven? Like the young lady or one trying to pass exams or with a loose hands?
God and the Word expect us to be fully prepared to not miss the day of rapture by living a holy life.

1Peter 1:16 says ...be yes holy for I am holy.
This is the passport that takes one to heaven
Prayer: Make me Holy LORD just as You are.
